"Apple A Day" Flat Cheating Case

Even as fresh complaints are pouring in alleging that the proprietors of Apple A Day properties cheated the investors, the police are groping in the dark regarding the whereabouts of the promoters.

Though there were reports that the promoters had bought land in various parts of the state using funds amassed from the investors, the police could not take any measures to attach the properties. Top officials with the Revenue Department told Express that the police have not sought any help from the department to attach such properties. They have not approached the Revenue Department to identify the land either. The police received complaints from the investors in the initial stages, but it failed to keep a tab on the movement of the promoters giving the latter enough time to abscond.

According to the police, they are getting an average of 20 complaints everyday from those who had put their money in the Apple A Day properties real estate group.

The city police had issued look-out notices on the managing director and director of Apple A Day properties Pvt Ltd in connection with the cheating cases. The notices were issued on K A Saju,37, and C Rajeev Kumar,33, managing director and director of the real estate company under sections 406, 420 and 34 of the IPC
